Hi, I am Andres Felipe Pena Castro, a seismologist and data scientist specialiazing in seismic analysis and innovative geophysical techniques. I've worked on projects across Antarctica, the Arctic, France, and Germany, using Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), dense seismic instrumentation, and machine learning techniques to study seismicity and earthquake processes.
My current research focuses on: (i) seismic event detection, location, and characterization in Mt. Erebus (Antarctica), (ii) magnitude estimation of induced earthquakes in the Raton Basin (New Mexico, USA), and (iii) the application of machine learning algorithms to Distributed Acoustic Sensor (DAS) data.
